Fringe-Master can track black, white, or black & white fringes for improved sampling and higher accuracy.
Fringe tracking is performed automatically on a single click of the mouse. Fringe-Master has been designed to detect fringes reliably over a wide range of image qualities. Excellent results can be obtained automatically from low contrast, noisy interferograms under conditions where other systems fail. For example, Fringe-Master works perfectly with non-uniform illumination or against a "sloping" intensity background as shown. This makes the system ideal for use with "shop-floor" interferometers or in specialist research applications.
Speckle, damaged or misaligned interferometer optics, spurious reflections and coherence effects, vibration, air turbulence and variations in illumination all conspire to degrade the image quality. This is where Fringe-Master's advanced fringe detection algorithms come to the rescue, exploiting the latest advances in PC computing power. Add to this the image processing and fringe editing capabilities which are integrated with Fringe-Master and you have a system that is ideally suited to the demands of the research laboratory as well as the optical production line.
