A high accuracy video frame grabber is incorporated in Fringe Master which digitises the video output signal from your interferometer to 8 bits (256 grey levels) and displays a live image on the PC screen. The system accepts both U.S. (RS170) and European (CCIR) video standards and digitises to 640 x 480 or 768 x 576 resolution respectively.
In set-up mode, a grey level cross section plot is displayed and updated in real time in addition to the live video picture on the PC monitor to enable the user to adjust the software controlled gain and offset for optimum performance.
Fringe Master also works with images from disc in either .RAW or .TIF standard image formats. This enables images to be archived, shared between systems and output in a format suitable for incorporation in reports and test sheets.
Hard copy fringe patterns can be digitised using a standard scanner and loaded into Fringe Master using the .TIF format.
